He disappeared during the summer.

I went out to give her some water
She was near the Pyrex and the chicken had been in the box on the compost side but now she was near
I gave her some water which was successful
But then she stood up and started drinking from Pyrex
She still can't close her mouth
She seems more alert but would not eat meat

What The builder has done to our corner of town at the end of this street, in the name of “improvements”, at least so far, is hideous.
It had a rustic kind of small-town charm at one time.
It looks like a mall parking lot entrance now.

we always lose electricity in storms.
So many tree limbs come down on the wires.
But that’s why it surprised me so much when they cut down my favorite beautiful maple tree at the end of my block. I just couldn’t understand at the time, why. But now I know.
They’re building a huge apartment building at the end of the street and (I was talking with the construction guys on one of my walks) the developer of the apartment building has basically commandeered that whole end of the block for his purposes.
In exchange for letting him build such a huge building there, doylestown required that he also “upgraded” the end of the block for traffic flow. That upgrade included rearranging how the streets arrange there (it’s an odd 3 point intersection). Part of that flow involved adding stop signs, parking spots, and a sidewalk, that required removal of the tree.
I’m just glad it’s all far enough from my house to not impact on traffic near my house, because it’s not even finished yet and is already kind of an eyesore.
Unless maybe they’ll still put some new trees in down there

Outside of works of art which embody something beyond our physical needs, our own constructions bore us. Those who, when they have built something and admired the finished product for a decent moment, are ready to pull it down and start on something new have good sense on their side.”
