my sister really likes him
me not so much
he is a glib and articulate speaker, perfect for talking head spots on shows like Fox
I hope he does a great job on transportation because not only is this something I care a lot about, but I have a lot of fantasies how to improve our transportation system that I do not think anyone else is thinking about
I think we need more regional rail. What if we have problems delivering things by truck anymore,
for defense, rail would make a good stopgap,
yet we got rid of so much rail, so many abandoned tracks in the south
but the one thing that I totally agree with Buttigieg about
SIDEWALKS
how can we get around if we are discouraged from walking places because there are no sidewalks
it is so hard for me to get across the boulevard here because there are no sidewalks
just tons of gullies
but back to my sister
at the end of the summer, she could only see one monarch caterpillar left. she couldn’t get any milkweed for them from the nurseries, so she put a chair over the remaining milkweed to give them a flat surface to crawl up to make their chrysalis. she said Ma told her a long time ago to do that. My sister said she never thought she would ever get any monarchs so she didn’t put in any supplies.

Even as Cape Town evolves, grows more cosmopolitan, holds its first Picasso exhibition, becomes an international convention hub, acquires its very own fashion week ... I still can’t help feeling the old unease. Is it the parochialism and cliquishness that outsiders comment on, joking that only third-generation Capetonians are really accepted? Is it the self-satisfied airheads basking at Camps Bay cafés, flicking golden curls and agonising over which cocktail to order? --Cape Town Calling (2007), Justin D. Fox
