Oh wait, I just remembered.
Terrorist one of our prior chickens had a torn palate inside her beak, and couldn’t close her mouth at all for at least a week. We thought at first it was mouth breathing but I saw inside her mouth when I came home and realized it was a beak injury. And we fed her with an eye dropper for the first week, at least.

Krishnan had no experience other than his own parenting. But if whatever he did as a parent worked for his kids, he felt, why wouldn’t it work for everyone? For example, when he taught his kids left from right, he liked to do it in the car, when they were in the back seat.--Alexis C. Madrigal

Starting up new baby chicks is a lot of work.

Even with both Ma and Tato there , it was exhausting for them.

I remember always being horrified at how filthy their living quarters were (in the family room) until they grew up a little bit and were able to get outside more.

Then the physical effort involved in setting them up outside on nice days, back inside on cold days… that was a lot of work, too.

And they’re not particularly bright when they’re so young, involves a lot more chasing and catching before they learn the ropes.

Now having said that, it might be easier if you already have an adult hen who can teach them about what’s what and where, outside… I’m not really sure, though.

I have torn everyone who reached out for me.
But I swear by this song
and by all that I have done wrong
I will make it all up to thee.--

i remember having to care for Terrorist after the attack

the first two days were the hardest

Yes she could stand

Yes I worried about lung but I agreed she probably had internal soreness in addition to external

Ma hasn't tried meat but she wouldn't eat grapes

However she did independently ambulate from corridor to major coop which was good
