In the US, Biden is being demanded to give an explanation about Yermak and his alleged ties to Russia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacted

Congresswoman Spartz calls for finding out as soon as possible the safety of negotiations with Yermak and the probability of his connections with Russia.

A member of the US House of Representatives, Victoria Spartz, on Friday, July 8, asked President Joe Biden to provide an explanation regarding surveillance procedures, in particular, related to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak. This is stated in a letter to members of the US Congress.

Part of Victoria Spartz's letter to the president is hidden from publication and covered with a black stamp, therefore, the content of this fragment is not specified. In the general description of the letter, it is noted that there is a variety of intelligence data regarding Yermak's actions in Ukraine and his alleged ties to Russia.

The congresswoman also notes that the head of the Office of the President Yermak appointed Oleg Tatarov as his deputy for law enforcement activities to fight corruption, while he delayed the appointment of an independent anti-corruption prosecutor for more than a year, which leads to the incapacity of the SAP and NABU.

Spartz notes that in 2020, before his appointment, Tatarov was under investigation by NABU, where his case was allegedly improperly transferred to a regular prosecutor and closed. He was also a high-ranking police official under former President Yanukovych and persecuted Euromaidan participants.

"Since President Zelensky is working very hard to build alliances with the West and our country, it is our duty to let him know if we may have any concerns about key people in his circle. This is also our duty to the brave Ukrainian soldiers and the strong Ukrainian people who are fighting for freedom and international order for all of us," says Victoria Spartz's letter.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reacted to the call of the member of the US House of Representatives Victoria Spartz to Joe Biden to check the "Russian connections" of the head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak. The representative of the ministry, Oleg Nikolenko, criticized such an appeal, noting that it "is an undisguised attempt to return to American politics the classic narratives of Russian propaganda about the supposed ties of the leadership of Ukraine with Russia and involve our state in the domestic politics of the United States."

"We advise Mrs. Spartz to stop trying to earn additional political capital on baseless speculations about the war in our country and the grief of Ukrainians. The manipulations about Ukraine and its leadership by congresswomen of Ukrainian origin are especially cynical," he noted.

According to him, Congresswoman Spartz should stop undermining the existing mechanisms for providing US military aid to Ukraine. Since the Ukrainian side interacts with American partners as openly as possible, providing them with comprehensive information about the use of equipment. Therefore, further bureaucratization and prolongation of the process will only play into the hands of the Kremlin.

We will remind you that on February 11, 2020, Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Andriy Bohdan from the position of the head of the Office of the President by his decree and appointed Andriy Yermak to this position by a corresponding decree.

Andriy Yermak is a Ukrainian lawyer and film producer. He is the founder of Garnet International Media Group and the producer of the films "Rule of Battle" and "The Frontier". In 1997, he founded his law firm and participated in the development of the first legislative acts in the field of commercial law and intellectual property. He is a member of the International Association of Lawyers and the Association of Lawyers of Ukraine. On May 21 last year, he was appointed an assistant to Volodymyr Zelenskyi, later he became a member of the National Investment Council and a member of the supervisory board of the Ukroboronprom concern.
