i work with someone who is a total stickler for rules, regulations and perfect writing. In fact, that is the chief portion of her job description
she sent me and email said in part
<<And can (not may, in this instance) we please teach these folks a bit of proper grammer! "Systems" is singular, even if it does have an "s" at the end.) Yikes. I don't know if I want to be around me the next few weeks. Could be interesting.
See, it's "One toke over the line sweet Jesus, one toke over the line...." And I'm straight.>>

How are you inspiring greatness today?

I was going to finish some job apps this weekend, but just didn't feel like doing anything. I haven't heard anything about jobs, but am not really expecting anything. I would like to stay out here for another couple of years, but do really want to get back to DC.
My other friend's dad is coming out of retirement as of September 1. He's been hired as the interim at a church her mother is already out there for the summer. her mom is going back and her Dad will go back for Thanksgiving. Then they are all going back for Christmas. I don't think they've found a place to rent yet, but her Mom's starting to go around to yard sales looking for furnishings. They'll only be out there for 2 years (at the most), so they're not really moving out.

Peter Pevensie: She's right. He's gone.
Edmund Pevensie: Then you'll have to lead us.

i asked a friend how easy it would be to write a program
he - just wrote me an email saying the thinks it is easy peasy
i will ask him today at lunch why he doesn't get on it
i think our real problem is that the client isn't really good at writing requirements
i remember in my first requirements session which had 40 people in it,
most of whom were the 6 different legacy system representatives
the leader made the statement that she penned on the white board; some
of the business process is driven by time limitations, eg
some have time requirements that must be made within 60 days
i raised my hand -- if you weren;t from the legacy system group you had to raise your hand.
they were allowed to scream out stuff whenever they wanted
i said no, the entire business process is driven by the law
they all looked at me like i was a lunatic
then said no, policy
i laughed and explained it
they don't understand the different rules on when how and why they
answer the public
i think most everyone i work with could write the requirements overnight but these folks who represent the legacy system do not have public encounter experience sufficient to do it
in the meantime, this suggests that the assignment system did not
quite work out as well as they hoped

Asher: I object to working on this case on moral grounds.
Bonnie: Then you can go work at another law office.
Asher: Really? You're going to fire me when I can file a sexual harassment suit?--How to Get Away With Murder
