I wanted to come Home for the holidays, but the delta and omicron variants seems to be affecting Pennsylvania and New Jersey, so I changed my mind.

One sister has been raising milkweed and monarchs almost as long as my mom has. She recently retired so she will be devoting a lot more time to gardening and butterflies. In fact, she restored her hobby size green house this summer, and will start growing milkweed to prepare for summer. I think she usually grows about forty plants but always runs around in September looking for more.

The other lives in a small town . She lives in a small house but the lot and area are undeveloped and wooded. She sometimes has woodland creatures - such as bears - as visitors.

There is a lot of common milkweed on her property, so she does not need to plant extra. What she lacks is a good quality cage that will keep the wasps and other predators away. I am going to buy her a cage for her birthday, in February.
