McConell responded the senate will not be bullied

Alot of us lost touch with a guy we worked with. I had his email and so did some others, but he stopped responding to us. I found out he died by reading the obituaries.

I have not decided anything about the vaccine

Probably will take the vaccine unless recommended not to

The most recent medical evidence now shows if you have a tendency to anyphylactic reactions due to allergies, you probably should not take it

I have a wide variety of reactions to all sorts of things so i may not be the right candidate

Until the crisis is over, it is not a good idea to make decisions. I would have to travel to explore options and i am unwilling to travel now

My childhood friend is an ER doctor. He sent us xmas wishes and attached hospital statistics and he begged us not to convene for the holidays. His hospital, one of the largest in Philly is at 102 percent capacity. I remember taking my mom twice there in normal conditions and she had to sleep in er for two to three days til they found her a room. I do not even want to imagine what its like out there.

Pennsylvania reported a record more than 300 dead today \and we will hit 350k tonite

Anyway, please stay safe and have a lovely holiday season regardless

Looking forward to 2021 being better

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexican ballad singer and composer Armando Manzanero died at the age of 85, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said Monday.

Manzanero was hospitalized in recent weeks with COVID-19 and at one point was on a ventilator.

But his manager, Laura Blum, said he died at a Mexico City hospital of complications from a kidney problem.--By BERENICE BAUTISTA

The COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented global health, social and economic crisis. Historical comparisons are few, particularly in recent decades. This tragedy constitutes nothing less than a trial for all humanity. [...] The pandemic, in other words, is now testing the capacity of our political and economic systems to cope with a global problem situated at the level of our individual interdependence, which is to say at the very foundation of our social life. [...] We equally depend on the state to help businesses of all sizes endure this trial by providing them with the financial assistance and guaranteed loans they require in order to avoid bankruptcy and retain as much of their workforce as possible. States no longer have any qualms about spending without limits in order to save the economy — "whatever it takes!" — while just weeks ago states opposed any request to increase hospital staff, hospital beds, or emergency services, out of its obsessive concern for budgetary constraint and limiting the public debt. States have since rediscovered the virtues of interventionism, at least when it comes to funding private enterprise and shoring up the financial system. One of the most ambitious stimulus plans to date has been implemented by Germany. Their plan constitutes an abrupt break with the ordoliberal dogmas that have been the norm since the beginning of the Federal Republic of Germany.

when I got the job that allowed me to move from DC to Alabama we went to dinner

my friend said Most of all she enjoyed seeing all my hard work coming to fruition. She said The fact that I was kvetching about being exhausted from smiling proves the point. A happy occasion I was more than pleased to share with her and my family :)

She said my Dad is a gentleman which he is and, as she told him, a sly one - he had paid for the check before she knew it was an issue. He said it was a skill that came with age thinking about it and given he reminded her of her own Dad, she felt he was right. she told me to thank my folks for a lovely lunch and the company.

she is gone too

No; no; not a sixpence.

Charles Cotesworth Pinckney, letter to Timothy Pickering (October 27, 1797), relating the American response to a French request for a tribute or bribe, in State Papers and Publick Documents of the United States, 3d ed. (1819), vol. 3, p. 492. The French had seized several American ships. The wording of this quotation usually reads: "...not a penny".

someone from poland sent me a polish gofundme because her mom died. She claims to be a relative
sure it is possible

but i am not sending money through a polish gofundme

On this gofundme there’s a small story about what the money is for.
Then there’s a “$ goal”
Then on the side of the page is a list of names who has donated what so far, and how much more to go to reach goal

i guess it is the same as a USA page but I still do not trust it
