I got my heating down to about $125 per month in the coldest months (3 months)… Cheap for a house.
And almost half of what I paid when I was working and just left it on “all day”, now I pay attention and run it judiciously, though admittedly I like cold better than heat, most other people don’t.
Also, half of what I pay for Comcast, which is the bill that really pisses me off the most.

Meanwhile The guys who bought my house probably paying double that for AC for 9 months.

Though I moved

I stay in touch with a lot of the people I worked with. One died a few years ago, another died this year

I correspond regularly with another, who sends me a lot of news clippings but that has slowed down, as he suffered skin and bladder cancer and had cervical surgery that was supposed to but never relieved his shortness of breath. He visits regularly with his grandkids. Most recently I have stopped talking to him because I realized his so called conservative viewpoints are really putin talking points. So gullible. So irredeemable

Otherwise another n regularly shares stuff with several of us,. All seem to be doing well. One is in Florida now, I think. Another used to be on that mail list but he no longer responds. He might be in a nursing home

I also correspond with one who moved back to Ann Arbor where she grew up. One daughter married a military doctor and has lived all over the world. The other one has been an editor for every fashion magazine you can think of, and worked on the set of one of those reality fashion shows.

Another one and i share a fascination with the ascendancy of a local journalist, who has become quite famous, as her bookreceived television treatment on netflix i think.

I have lost touch with most everyone else It has been downright summery here til now as we got an unexpected downpour

Another friend calls me about every six weeks fantasizng about taking a road trip

Virtually every one of these involves sitting in a car while he drives, with a trailer attached and we end up camping somewhere
