A guy knocked on my door
He said they just finished repaving on the corner of my street, half a
block away from my house, where it needed to be dug up because of a broken
pipe, and they had extra hot tar left over.
PS the last time that corner was dug up to repair and repave was about
6months ago.
I’m home ALL DAY and walk the neighborhood every day now, I’d remember if
my street was dug up recently.

He quoted me $10K for the job (Stoner just had his done by a “real” company
for $7K)
When I told him I can’t afford that, he said “how about $5K then?”
When I told him I can’t afford that either, he asked me “tell me what you
can afford, I’ll see if I can match it”
I told him I can afford zero. And fuck off

Let me start this out by saying that during the 2016 presidential campaign,
I told everyone I would be retiring, because the company was already
changing before their eyes, why couldn’t t they see it?

I kept telling them life as they knew it was finished, and it didn’t matter
which candidate won.


The chAnges, I alleged, would be very significant, possibly even with
privitization spinoffs in the works. Privitization has not happened yet,
but many of the things I said would happen did happen...
