Post by M KfivethousandPost by M KfivethousandIn any case, I’m pretty sure the Mexicans out there next doo are gonna die from heat stroke soon.
They are fat and not so young, and working in blaring sunshine.
At least when I move a rock every 20 minutes (already did 5 this morning!) I work in the shade.

Yep, that's a storm that is supposed to come up the coast and arrive here on Saturday. OR... It will swerve out to the ocean.
It will either rain here, or it will not.
It will definitely not snow, though.
Temps all this week are barely out of the 80s.... no snow, for sure.

But baby girl, I can't

Run the streets all day

Assuming there’s no clouds tomorrow, I will do this.
Sit on my patio 8am noon 3pm
When is it sunny and when is it shady

Till the cold is away
And then he’ll come out in the spring, Poor thing!
The north wind doth blow,
And we shall have snow,--The North Wind

I am going to call a different guy TOMORROW to get a written estimate for a railing for the patio, and then I'll take it from there next week.
The Mexicans won't do anything new, unless their boss is there to approve it. (I know this because I finally met them for the first time a couple Saturdays ago). The boss is the only one who speaks English well enough. The rest of the guys are just worker bees who do only whatever he says to do. (And ps did you know that some of the 'guys' are women?)
The railing is most important first. I'll figure out a way to get in contact with the Mexicans myself once the railing is installed. It will give them some extra work to do in the autumn when there's no more grass to cut and they need more work anyway.

A year without interest rates or mean daily temperature.
Its hit songs have yet to be written, its new-year
babies yet to be induced, its truces to be signed.
Much too far off for prophecy, though one hazards
a tentative guess--Tomorrow
